A brief history
" The roots of a passion that took root in the history of an ancient large estate "
The fertile lands of Tenute Cuffaro extend over a pleasant plateau sheltered by hills and not far from the sea. Hectares of vineyards whose roots take root in the history of an ancient large estate and a family that has been taking care of it for generations: we are talking about the Feudo di Fauma and the Cuffaro family . Sicily until the second half of the nineteenth century was divided into large estates. Vast expanses of land that needed reliable and capable men to manage the herds, guard the crops, especially the vineyards. At that time, Baron Agnello Pasciuta , owner of the Feudo di Fauma, chose Filippo Cuffaro precisely because of his outstanding personal qualities as the "curator" of his estate.A renewed trust then in his son Rosario and which lasted until the division of the fiefdom with the agrarian reform. Starting from 1960 the grandson of the "curatolo", also named Filippo Cuffaro, began to buy the same lands where he was born and raised with his family. Thus, over the years, Tenute Cuffaro were born : 12 hectares planted with vines by a family that with the same passion as yesterday, today looks to the future. In fact, Filippo is now a grandfather and together with his son Rosario and granddaughter Anna they decide to make wine on their own since 2016.
