Nose
fruity aromas of red berries such as strawberries and cherries, followed by floral notes and hints of white pepper and clove
Growing Conditions
Our vineyard is 620 metres above sea level, with southeastern exposure to the sun, and is adjacent to Monte Altore, a spent volcano. As a result, our soil is rich in calcium and mixed clay, giving it a volcanic quality. The vines have been trained using the spurred cordon system and have grown for over a decade without irrigation. We take great care in handpicking all our grapes, which are grown organically.
Harvest
The Frappato grapes are carefully hand-picked and selected between the last week of September and the first week of October, and our grapes are harvested once.
Aging
The wine spends nine months in steel and three months in bottles before selling.
