Cantine Florio

Aged in oak barrels for at least 24 months, the latest Florio marsala wine offers a new taste experience. Its hints of raisins and vanilla give us a foretaste of its warm and mellow taste on the palate, with balanced sensations of dried fruit and raisins, which make it perfectly suited to accompany medium-aged cheeses and, especially, pastries and chocolate.

Malvasia and Corinto Nero grapes, grown on the volcanic soil of the island of Salina and sun-dried on cane mats, produce this harmonious wine, rich in Mediterranean suggestions tasting of sun and wind.

Made from quality Zibibbo grapes harvested on the island of Pantelleria and dried naturally by the sun. This modern wine, rich in nuances and excellent as a meditation drink, is superb with confectionery and, served cold, as an unusual aperitif.

The classic dessert wine, VecchioFlorio is a versatile wine. This superior marsala, extremely well-known in Italy and abroad, is made from Grillo and Cataratto grapes and aged in old oak barrels for 30 months – well above the requirements of its DOC specification – in the tranquillity of the centuries-old vaults of the Florio Wine Cellars.

Marsala Vergine, aged in small oak vats for 13 years, has its roots in the Garibaldi Cellar, 108 meters away from the sea. Offspring of an environment dense with salty humidity, it expresses itself with a “marine” sensorial character, thrilling the palate with sensations of persistent flavour and crunchiness. Fresh and vibrant, it delights the nose with Mediterranean aromas and notes of broom and jasmine.

This refined and impressive vintage is filled with spicy and fruity sensations. Aegusa captivates with its amazingly persistent, complex mineral taste of liquorice root and burnt honey. A rare Florio Riserva, produced only with the best vintage of each decade, Aegusa rests in the stillness of the Florio Wine Cellars, maintaining the authenticity of single vintages. The following vintage years are available: 1941, 1952, 1964, 1974, 1989, 1994, 2001.
